    Aegis Gallery has 'Hidden Agendas'

Saratogan Judith Marshall, a prolific artist and painter, is the featured member artist at Aegis Gallery of Fine Art, 14531 Big Basin Way, from Sept. 24 through Oct. 22. Her exhibition, "Hidden Agendas," consists of collages and mixed media pieces in which much of the symbolism and representational drawing is covered or hidden under layers of paint and collage.

A reception, with refreshments, takes place Sept. 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. For gallery hours or more information, call 408.867.0171 or visit www.aegisgallery.com on the Internet.

Mountain church to hold a festival

Skyland Church, at 25100 Skyland Road in the Santa Cruz Mountains, hosts its annual Harvest Festival on Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. One of the highlights is the sale of fresh fruits and vegetables from local gardens, along with homemade jellies, jams and pies.

For children, the festival offers a bounce house, painting easels and a sale of gently used clothing, toys and games. Adults and children alike can also browse the used book sale, which includes genres such as fiction, science-fiction, travel, home improvment, personal growth and children's stories. Two musicians and a puppeteer will provide entertainment for all ages.

A silent auction is also part of the day and includes gift baskets, original artwork, wines from local vineyards, a gourmet dinner, water treatment services and a Puerto Vallarta getaway. There are even items on which children can bid.

For information, or directions, call 408.353.1310.
