Andrew 'Drew' Carlson
Andrew "Drew" John Carlson, 19, of Saratoga died of injuries suffered in a climbing accident Sept. 8 in mountains outside Boulder, Colo. He was a student at the University of Colorado, where he was studying chemical engineering, and a 1995 graduate of Lynbrook High School.
He loved the mountains and mountain sports, especially skiing, snowboarding and climbing, said a family member.
He is survived by his parents, James E. and Anne Tracy Carlson of Saratoga, and an older brother, Jeremy Carlson of Saratoga, paternal grandparents, Ed and Aileen Carlson of Sunnyvale, and his maternal grandmother, Margaret Tracy of Denison, Iowa.
A memorial service was held Sept. 16 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Cupertino.
