The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department is conducting a session of the Teenage Community Police Academy beginning Oct. 8. The academy is intended to provide students with an understanding of various aspects of the Sheriff's Department.
Students will participate in exercises including vehicle stops, officer safety and arrest control techniques. There will be a three-hour class on the use of small arms, and students will complete a 10-hour ride-along with a deputy.
