Softball Clinic A weekend clinic for girl softball players of all ability levels will be held Oct. 3-4, with instruction by Olympians Lisa Mize and Sheree Corniel. Roller Hockey The Silicon Valley Quakes, a traveling roller-hockey team that plays out of San Jose, will hold tryouts for the 10-and-under and 8-and-under teams (ages as of Dec. 31, 1998) on Oct. 3 and 10, 2:30-4:30 p.m. each day, at the Gremic Roller Hockey facility at 401 Jackson St. in San Jose. The year-round program is open to players from anywhere in the area. There is one practice and one game each week, but the team will also travel to play weekend tournaments. Gremic also hosts and in-house league starting at the same time, with games played each Sunday morning in San Jose. For more information, call Dave Inouye at 978-3579. Quickness Clinic A speed and quickness clinic for football, basketball and baseball players and track athletes will be held Oct. 10, 9- 11 a.m., at the Los Gatos High School track. Punt, Pass & Kick The annual NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition for boys and girls will be held Oct. 4, 2-4 p.m., at the Camden Activities Center at Camden Avenue near Union.
