Sumits, McLaughlin
Tracey Lynn Sumits of Plano, Texas, and David Michael McLaughlin of Saratoga were wed Aug. 3 at the Lodge at Pebble Beach.
The bride, daughter of Sharon and William W. Sumits of Cupertino, is a 1984 graduate of Plano High School and a 1988 graduate of Stanford University, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in human biology. She received her master's degree in 1993 from UC-Berkeley and her M.D. in 1996 from UC-San Francisco. She is employed as a resident physician in internal medicine at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, San Jose.
The bridegroom, son of Dr. William T. and Marlene McLaughlin of Saratoga, graduated from Saratoga High School in 1979 and from UCLA in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in economics. He obtained his law degree from University of Santa Clara Law School and is a partner in the law firm of Ropers, Majeski, Kohn and Bentley in Redwood City.
The couple took a wedding trip to Thailand and are making their first home in Sunnyvale.
Hubert, Parker
Whitney Hubert of Salt Lake City, Utah, became the bride of Michael Parker of Saratoga Aug.31 during a ceremony in Saratoga.
The bride, daughter of Josie and Fred Hubert of Salt Lake City, is a graduate of the University of Utah, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration and a JD degree in law. She is employed as contracts manager at Genentech Inc.
The bridegroom, son of Grace and Alfred Parker of Saratoga, is a graduate of Bellarmine Preparatory School and Northwestern University, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in economics. He is employed by Sedgwick, Nobel Lowndes in San Francisco as assistant vice president of intranet communications.
The couple resides in Sunnyvale.
