The Saratoga Senior Center offers low-cost flu shots on Saturday, Oct. 19 and Nov. 2 and 16, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Members of the emergency room nursing staff of Community Hospital of Los Gatos will give the shots under the direction of Dr. Ethlyn Countryman, chair of the Senior Center's Health Committee. Fee is $5.
The Santa Clara County Health Department recommends flu shots for persons over the age of 60 and for younger persons with chronic respiratory disease. Children under 18 and pregnant women must have a written statement from their physician.
A new, locally produced cable TV show about Saratoga airs for the first time Oct. 9. The show, "Inside Saratoga," will air every other Wednesday on KSAR Channel 6 at 8 p.m.
"It's a 'lifestyles of Saratoga' show, featuring restaurant tours, Saratoga homes, a health and wellness segment and Saratoga history," said Vanessa Davies, production assistant and researcher.
The show will also cover Saratoga celebrations, starting with footage of the recent Celebrate Saratoga street dance. Saratoga News columnist and historian Willys Peck will be featured on the first show, talking about the Saratoga Historical Museum. Another segment will cover the Warner Hutton Teen Center.

Saratoga Woods Homeowners sponsor an Oct. 10 Candidates Forum at 7:30 p.m. at the Saratoga Senior Center, 19655 Allendale Ave., open to the publlic.
The forum presents an opportunity for voters to ask the four City Council candidates their positions regarding issues in Saratoga.
The "Help Our House Golf Tournament," benefiting Saratoga's Warner Hutton house Teen Center, will be held Friday, Oct. 25, at Summit Pointe Golf Course in Milpitas.
With a 1 p.m. shotgun start, the handicapped scramble is $95 per person, with proceeds going to keep the teen center open. Call 867-1250 or 374-1111 for information.
