Aaron Huch, a sixth-grader at Redwood Middle School, studies for his science class after school at the Warner Hutton House, Saratoga's teen center. Last spring, the Saratoga Youth Commission pressed the city council to set aside money to convert the attic in the house into a study area. As part of a citywide capital improvement plan currently under discussion, the council has set aside $125,000 of the estimated $250,000 needed for the attic conversion. The council has challenged the youth commission to raise the other half of the money needed for the project.
