City Council commends interim finance director

The Saratoga City Council at its Oct. 7 meeting thanked Interim Finance Director Oliver Wright for his work with the city by passing a resolution in his honor. Wright filled the finance director's position from March through September, when Mary Jo Walker was hired as the city's permanent finance director.

During his six months with the city, Wright worked on the continued implementation of the city's new financial system and assisted in the preparation of the budgets for fiscal years 1998-99 and 1999-00.

"Ollie accomplished all this with tremendous good humor, which made working with him a pleasure for the staff, the Finance Commission and the City Council," the resolution stated.
