Lacrosse Club Meeting

The Tomahawks Lacrosse Club will hold a registration and informational meeting on Oct. 21, 7:15 p.m., in room C3 at Jordan Middle School, 750 N. California, Palo Alto.

The club is open to all students in grades 4-12 living on the peninsula. Players of all ages are needed, and no experience is necessary.

Practice begins in January, with games played from March to May. For more information, call 1-650-962-1455.

Youth basketball

The Los Gatos-Saratoga Recreation Department will hold youth basketball sign-ups for boys and girls in grades 3-8 on Oct. 20, at the Recreation Center, 123 E. Main St.

Additional sign-ups will be accepted at the center during regular office hours Oct. 20-Nov. 17.

The season runs Jan. 3- March 7, and the registration fee for the 10-week season is $65 per player. All players receive a team jersey and photo. Games are played on Saturdays at Los Gatos High School and Fisher Middle School.

The league is also looking for volunteer coaches for the upcoming season.

Little League

The Quito Little League will hold sign-ups for the 1998 season on Nov. 12, 18 and 20, 6:30-9 p.m. each night, in room PE1 at Rolling Hills Middle School on Pollard Road at More.

The league is open to boys and girls ages 5-12 (as of July 31, 1998). Players must provide a PG&E bill for proof of residency and a birth certificate for proof of age at the registration. An $80 donation is requested.

Coaches needed

Youth basketball coaches are needed for the upcoming season in the program offered by the city of Saratoga.

Adults are needed to teach youngsters the basic fundamentals of basketball and to supervise them during games and practices. The program coordinator will provide training in basic first aid, coaching techniques and philosophy. No experience is necessary, but knowledge of basketball is helpful.

Games are played on Saturdays from January through early March. Practices begin on Dec. 2. For more information, call 868-1252.
