Preston Wynne Spa presents Glamorama

Preston Wynne Spa presents Glamorama, a makeup-fashion event and party, on Fri., Oct. 18 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the spa, 14567 Big Basin Way. Proceeds will benefit Next Door, a Santa Clara women's shelter.

The spa will be transformed into a glamour spot as makeup artists and hair stylists paint, powder, tease and fluff guests. Champagne, an all-chocolate dessert buffet and a trunk show by Los Angeles designer Melanie Apple will add to the festivities.

"Glamorama is dedicated to the diva in every woman," said spa director Peggy Wynne Borgman. "She's a woman who loves the spotlight. She doesn't care what anyone else thinks; she's her own person."

The event offers "gilt without guilt," Borgman said. "Professional women and moms need to take off their practical, wash-and-wear every day personas once in a while."

Next Door operates a shelter for victims of domestic violence, as well as counseling, education and outreach programs.
