    Two new staffers join paper

Kara Chalmers has been named assistant editor of the Saratoga News. She replaces Steve Enders, who has taken a position with a businesses publication on the Peninsula.

Chalmers grew up in Boston and attended Tufts University, where she majored in political science. She worked at Walking and Health magazines before she decided her passion was for newspapers.

She earned her master's degree in journalism in June from Stanford University, where she was a reporter at the Stanford Daily.

Prior to accepting the position at the Saratoga News, she worked for the Willow Glen Resident, part of the Silicon Valley Community Newspaper group, which also publishes the Saratoga News.
