Cats take over Aegis Gallery

From Oct. 27 through Nov. 22, felines in all sizes and colors will fill Aegis Gallery as part of an exhibit titled "Yoju's Cats." A Saratoga resident for 10 years and an artist for more than 40, Yoju uses mixed media to portray feline personalities and character. This exhibition was recently featured at La Galerie Paris in Yokohama, Japan.

A reception for the artist takes place Nov. 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. The gallery is located at 14531 Big Basin Way, Unit 2. For gallery hours or more information, call 867-0171. Yoju's cats can be previewed on her Web site at www.artbyoju.com/catindex.html.

Country artist sings at church

Leroy Smith, a country/western recording artist from Nashville, performs Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, located at 19848 Prospect Road in Saratoga, at the corner of Miller and Blaney avenues.

The evening also includes a dessert buffet. Although admission is free, a goodwill offering will be accepted. The community is welcome. Call 252-8268 for information.

Support groups meet at hospital

The Community Hospital of Los Gatos offers a free ongoing support group for people suffering from problems such as chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome, fibromyalgia or multiple unexplained symptoms lasting six months or more, including fatigue, muscle pain, joint pain, sore throat, tender lymph nodes, impaired concentration, headaches or unrefreshing sleep.

The group meets the first Tuesday of every month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the hospital's Conference Center Room 3, located at 815 Pollard Road in Los Gatos. For information, call 866-4098.

Dance for parents without partners

The Santa Clara Valley chapter of Parents Without Partners holds its annual Halloween dance on Oct. 30 from 8:30 p.m to 12:30 a.m. at the Elks Lodge, located at 105 Newell Ave. in Los Gatos. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. The event includes raffles, treats and music. Admission is $8 for PWP members or $10 for non-members.
