Chang, Strasser graduate in Boston
Saratogans Sheldon C. Chang and Donald W. Strasser were among some 5,305 students being awarded academic degrees at Boston University this fall. Chang obtained a bachelor's degree in health studies, and Strasser was awarded a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Both graduated cum laude.
Corrales completes ROTC training
Elizabeth A. Corrales has completed a U.S. Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps field training encampment at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
The four- to six-week summer curriculum consists of orientation on jet aircraft, physical fitness and survival training. The cadet is a student at UC-Berkeley.
She is the daughter of Concepcion and Ignacio J. Corrales of Saratoga and a 1994 graduate of Presentation High School in San Jose.
Taylor wins fellowship
The Arts Council of Santa Clara County awarded $2,000 each to six Santa Clara County artists, three photographers and three poets.
One of the awards went to Brian Taylor of Monte Sereno, a professor of art and design and coordinator of the photography program at San Jose State University. He is also the recipient of an NEA regional fellowship and has exhibited his work internationally.
