    Girls' and Boys' Basketball Registration

    The Saratoga Recreation Department is holding registration for youngsters in first through sixth grades interested in playing in the 2000 Saratoga Youth Basketball League.

    Games will be played on Saturdays, Jan. 8-March 19, and the instructional basketball league will stress fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship. All youngsters will play at least two quarters per game.

    Teams in the third through sixth grade divisions will practice one evening during the week and each player will receive a uniform shirt and a team picture.

    Players in the third and fourth grades will play for teams formed by zones. Players in the fifth and sixth grades will attend a skills assessment session on Dec. 14 at Saratoga High School to determine team placement.

    The first and second grade division is in its first year and will feature shorter baskets. Teams will practice on Saturdays prior to their games.
