Youth baseball, softball signups

The World Series just ended, but it's already time to start thinking about baseball again... at least for youngsters interested in playing in leagues next spring.

Signups for youth baseball and softball leagues are already under way.

Saratoga Little League

The Saratoga Little League will hold signups for the 1999 season on Nov. 18 and 19, 7-9 p.m., and on Nov. 21, 9 a.m.-noon, in the cafeteria at Argonaut Elementary School.

Players must provide a birth certificate for proof of age and parents must provide proof of residency (a PG&E, water or phone bill). For more information, call the league hotline at 236-2678.

Quito Little League

The Quito Little League will hold signups for the 1999 season on Nov. 17 and 19, 6:30-9 p.m., and Nov. 21, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at Rolling Hills Middle School, Pollard Road at More Avenue in Los Gatos.

The league is open to boys and girls ages 5-12 (as of July 31, 1999). Players must provide a birth certificate for proof of age and parents must provide a PG&E bill and driver's license for proof of residency.

Pony-Colt Signups

The Saratoga Pony-Colt baseball league will hold signups for players ages 13-16 on Nov. 18 and 19, 7-9 p.m. each night, and Nov. 21, 9 a.m.-noon, in the cafeteria at Argonaut Elementary School.

Pony League is open to players ages 13-14 and Colt League for players ages 15-16. The Colt season begins in late May after the completion of the high school season.

Girls Softball Signups

The Los Gatos-Saratoga Girls Softball Association will hold signups on Nov. 10 and 17, 6-9 p.m., at Fisher Middle School in Los Gatos and Nov. 19, 6-9 p.m., at Argonaut School in Saratoga. The registration fee is $100 per player, and youngsters must provide proof of age.
