Artist and author speaks and paints at meeting At its Nov. 13 meeting, which takes place at 7 p.m. at the Saratoga Library, the Saratoga Contemporary Artists (SCA) hosts Linda Spencer, Ph.D., an artist, author and personal empowerment coach who will demonstrate and discuss encaustic painting techniques. Spencer works in two distinct styles: large oils and acrylics that reflect the process of her search for meaning, as well as smaller encaustics, which serve as projective screens used as meditative devices. Her encaustic paintings may be viewed at Gallery Saratoga on Big Basin Way; her recent book on healing abuse and trauma through art and creativity is available at the same gallery.
