The Los Gatos High School Wildcat marching band took top prize and a check for $500 in the Oct. 6 Saratoga Community Parade. Second place went to the Homestead High School marching band and third place to Saratoga High School's marching band.
Redwood Middle School's marching band took first place and $300 in the middle-school competition. Second place went to the Silvandale Middle School marching band.
The Stuart Highland Band took first place among pipe bands.
The Los Gatos High School spirit unit was awarded first place, and Homestead High School's spirit squad took second.
Monta Vista High School's drill team took first place, and Redwood Middle School's drill team placed second.
Homestead High School's majorette won first place. Los Gatos High School's drum major came in second, and Monta Vista High School's drum major came in third.
Los Gatos High's tall-flag unit won first place, and Homestead High School's tall-flag unit placed second. Saratoga High School tall flags came in third.
First place for a float went to Cornish & Carey. Second-place float prize went to Notre Dame Montessori School and third place to Saratoga Rotary Club.
An antique tractor won first place in the antique vehicle division. Second went to Ray Nelson Guitar and third place to Claravale Dairy.
Notre Dame Montessori School took first place in the specialty judging. Santa Clara County Girl Scouts took first in the preschool division.
In the performance category, Saratoga High School won first place and a $125 prize. Homestead took second, and third went to Los Gatos High School.
Redwood Middle School captured first in its performance division and a $100 prize.
