Sheriff's Report

Vandalism--Oct. 31, 12 p.m. on Fruitvale Avenue. A victim was driving southbound on Fruitvale Avenue when he saw the suspect running through traffic in front of his car. The suspect stopped in front of the victim's car so the victim had to brake in the middle of the street. The suspect then began to kick the side of the victim's car. The victim followed the suspect to his car and got the license plate number.

Credit Card Theft--Oct. 31, 9:15 a.m., on Saratoga Avenue. A woman told deputies she left her credit card at a gas station. When she went to retrieve the credit card, the cashier, who is also the suspect, told her, "Don't report it until morning. Maybe you dropped it." The victim reported her credit card stolen to her bank and was told there had been several transactions at the gas station since her last one. The credit card was found in the suspect's car upon a consensual search.

Vandalism--Oct. 30, 8:45 a.m., on Fruitvale Avenue. An unknown suspect hit a resident's mailbox with an object, denting the mailbox and knocking down the pole it was mounted on. The resident was able to push the dent out and stand the pole back upright.

Unlicensed Driver--Oct. 29, 12:10 p.m., on Big Basin Way. A deputy observed a driver parking his car, with expired tags, in a stall at the Village Center parking lot. The deputy stopped the driver, who didn't have any identification and was unlicensed. The driver's vehicle was towed, and the driver was booked at the main jail.

Forgery--Oct. 25, 5:20 p.m., on Saratoga Avenue. When a company was going over its bank statements, the owners discovered that two unauthorized checks had been made out and cashed using their signatures. The first was written on Aug. 4 for $419.31. the second, on Aug. 17 for $187.52. One of the owners had sent the other blank checks via UPS from a local drop box to Montana in July. The owner never received the checks.
