Basketball
The Saratoga Youth Basketball League is holding registration for players in grades 1-6. Games are played on Saturdays, Jan. 13 through March 17.
The instructional league stresses fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship. Each player will play at least two quarters a game.
Third-and fourth-grade teams are formed by zones, and players in fifth-and sixth -grades must attend a skills assessment session on Dec. 9 at Saratoga High School. The first and second grade divisions feature shorter baskets and there is a practice prior to each Saturday game.

Girls Softball
The Los Gatos-Saratoga girls softball program will hold signups for the 2001 season on Nov. 15, 7-9 p.m., in the cafeteria at Fisher Middle School.
The league is open to girls ages 7-16, and players must provide a birth certificate and proof of residency.
Signups
The Saratoga Little League will hold signups for the 2001 season on Nov. 15 and 16, 7-9 p.m., and Nov. 18, 9 a.m.-noon, at the Saratoga Community Center, next to West Valley Community College and Redwood Middle School at Fruitvale and Allendale.
Players ages 5-12 (5 before July 31, 2001, or 12 before July 31, 2001) are eligible and they must provide a birth certificate and proof of residency (a utility bill).

Little League
The Quito Little League will hold signups for the 2001 season on Nov. 14 and 16, 6:30-9 p.m., and Nov. 18, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., in the teacher's workroom at Rolling Hills School in Saratoga.
Players ages 5-12 are eligible for the league's baseball and T-ball programs, and they must provide a birth certificate and proof of residency at the registration.

The annual Stanford Holiday Baseball Clinics return to The Farm this year with sessions scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend and during Christmas vacation.
