    In Honor of Their Service

    World War II veterans George Kaiser (left), 78, and Tiny Westfall, 83, salute Col. John Bird, U.S. Army (Ret.), during a surprise lunchtime presentation on Veterans Day at the Odd Fellows Retirement Community. Bird and Charles Gascoigne, executive director of the California Association of Health Facilities, made the presentation to honor senior veterans. Also recognized for service to their country were David Heck, 91, Charles Reiger, 81, and Allen Thomsen, 82. The Odd Fellows home belongs to the California Association of Health Facilities.
