    Girls Softball

    Signups for the 2000 softball season for girls living in Los Gatos and Saratoga will be held Nov. 17, 7-9 p.m., at the Fisher Middle School cafeteria in Los Gatos and Nov. 20, 9 a.m.-noon, at Argonaut School in Saratoga.

    Youth Baseball

    The Saratoga Little League and Saratoga Pony-Colt League will hold signups for the 2000 spring baseball season on Nov. 17 and 18, 7-9 p.m., and Nov. 20, 9 a.m.-noon, in the cafeteria at Argonaut School.

    The Little League is open to boys and girls ages 5-12 (as of July 30, 2000). For information, call 408.970.6222.

    Pony baseball is for players ages 13-14, and Colt is open to players ages 15-16. For information, call 408.867.5170.

    Little League

    The Quito Little League will hold signups for the 2000 spring baseball season on Nov. 16 and 18, 6:30-9 p.m., and Nov. 20, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at Rolling Hills Middle School on Pollard Road at More Avenue in Los Gatos.

    The league is open to boys and girls ages 5-12 (as of July 31, 2000). Players' parents must provide a PG&E bill and driver's license for proof of residency and the child's birth certificate for proof of age.

    Players from parts of Campbell, Los Gatos and Saratoga are eligible for the league. Call 408.943.4707 or contact the league's website at www.quitoll.org for information.

    Gym open to 40+

    The small gym at Saratoga High School will be open for basketball for players age 40 and over every Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. The drop-in fee is $3 per night, and new players must show proof of age. For more information, call 408.868.1248.

    Youth Basketball

    The Saratoga Recreation Department is holding registration for youngsters in the first-sixth grades interested in playing in the 2000 Saratoga Youth Basketball League.

    Games will be played on Saturdays, Jan. 8-March 19, and the instructional basketball league will stress fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship. All youngsters will play at least two quarters per game.

    The first-second grade division is in its first year and will feature shorter baskets.
