Saratoga High play is humorous classic

For more information, call the SHS Activities Office at 408.867.3411.

    Montalvo hosts two November concerts

Montalvo, a nonprofit arts and cultural organization in Saratoga, is closing out November with two concerts. The first is Box Set, a roots-based rock acoustic group that will perform Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Carriage House. Founded in 1991 by guitarists/vocalists Jim Brunberg and Jeff Pehrson, the San Francisco-based group sometimes consists of the two men as a duo, while at other times it includes Sam Johnston on keyboards and harmonica, Mark Abbott on drums and Chad Heise on bass.

The other concert, Nov. 29 at the same time and venue, is the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, an instrumental ensemble known for eclectic programs and dynamic musical interplay. The group plays "transcriptions" of master concert works and interpretations of contemporary and world music. This performance is in collaboration with the San Jose Guitar Society.

Montalvo is at 15400 Montalvo Road. For ticket prices or additional information, call the Montalvo ticket office at 408.961.5858 or Ticketmaster at 408.998.8497.
