    Basketball signups for youth

The Saratoga Recreation Department is holding registration for youngsters in the first-sixth grades interested in playing in the 2000 Saratoga Youth Basketball League.

Games will be played on Saturdays, Jan. 8-March 19, and the instructional basketball league will stress fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship. All youngsters will play at least two quarters per game.

Teams in the third-sixth grade divisions will practice one evening during the week, and each player will receive a uniform shirt and a team picture.

Players in the third and fourth grades will play for teams formed by zones. Players in the fifth and sixth grades will attend a skills assessment session on Dec. 14 at Saratoga High School to determine team placement.

The first-second grade division is in its first year and will feature shorter baskets. Teams will practice on Saturdays prior to their games.
