Holidays, Elizabethan Style

The Saratoga Concert Choir, Jazz Choir and Orchestra present their first Elizabethan Holiday Festival on Sat., Dec. 14, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The evening is scheduled to include a catered four-course dinner of roasted pig, turkey and other traditional foods, and entertainment. About 70 Saratoga High School students will participate as strolling musicians, madrigal singers, Shakespearean characters and dancers. King Henry VIII and all his wives will also make an appearance, along with the Wembley Ensemble, jugglers, a contortionist and a brass fanfare ensemble. The festival is directed by Wendy Morgan Hunter, with support from acting director Jessica Teeter, orchestral director Ken Rydeen and assistant musical director Michelle Malinger. A large part of the festival is being put together by parent committees. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for students and can be purchased by calling the SHS music department at 867-3411, ext. 214. Seating is limited.
