Sheriff's Report

Arson--11 p.m., Nov. 15 on Fruitvale Avenue at the WVC student center. A witness reported seeing smoke and flames coming from the center and alerted the sheriff's department. Saratoga Fire responded and extinguished the fire. The doors of the center had been forced open.

Public Drunkenness--2:25 a.m., Nov. 10 on Quito Road. Sheriff's deputies responded to a complaint of an abandoned vehicle blocking traffic on Quito Road. When they arrived, the owner of the vehicle was standing 10 yards away, visibly intoxicated. The suspect was arrested.

Burglary--7:55 p.m., Nov. 9 on View Oak Drive. The victim's car was parked in front of her house all day, and when she returned in the evening the glove box was open. An umbrella and a flashlight were taken.

Lack of Business License--3:50 p.m., Nov. 7 on Buckhaven Drive. Sheriff's deputies responded to a complaint that there was no business license being displayed by landscapers using a leaf blower and lawn-mowing equipment. The landscaper could not produce a license and was cited.
