Schola Cantorum gives a holiday show in Saratoga

The Mountain View-based chorus Schola Cantorum performs Christmas in America on Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 13601 Saratoga Ave. The concert features holiday carols from the United States and abroad and concludes with an audience sing-along.

The concert includes "Angels We Have Heard on High," "I Saw Three Ships," "Songs of the Nativity," "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "O Magnum Mysterium" and "Carol of the Drum." Some of these arrangements also appear on Schola Cantorum's new CD, A Ceremony of Carols.

Also on tap is Conrad Susa's Carols and Lullabies: Christmas in the Southwest, a collection of traditional carols from Hispanic countries. Joining Schola Cantorum for this performance are a harpist, a guitarist and a marimba player. The performance is preceded at 7:15 p.m. by Preludes, part of a free pre-concert lecture series.

Tickets are $18 for adults, $13 for seniors and $6 for students and children. For more information, call 650.254.1700 or visit www.scholacantorum.org on the Internet.
