Saratoga NewsSheriff's ReportPetty Theft and Vandalism--Nov. 29, 11:55 p.m., on Allendale Avenue. A wedding party of about 250 adults and children was interrupted when unknown suspects sprayed dry-chemical fire extinguisher powder on the floor of the recreation room where the wedding reception was being held. The fire alarm was set off, and six gallons of ice cream was stolen from the kitchen. Vandalism--Nov. 25, 7 p.m., on Big Basin Way. The victim told deputies that he arrived at work at about 4 p.m. and parked in an underground garage. At 6 p.m., he returned to his car and found the right rear passenger window shattered and a 6-inch scratch on the left side beam that connects the roof to the trunk. No suspects. Vandalism--Nov. 24, 7:45 a.m., on Fruitvale Avenue. Reportee discovered graffiti on the cafeteria and boys' locker room buildings. No suspects. Possession of Methamphetamine--Nov. 23, 11:50 p.m. on Paseo Presada. A suspect and witness were stopped at a donation station. The suspect appeared to be under the influence of methamphetamine. A search of the suspects revealed methamphetamine and two glass pipes. Found Property--Nov. 23, 11:16 a.m., on Paseo Cerro. Several articles of jewelry were found in the suspect's backpack during a consensual search during a routine traffic stop. The suspect had pliers, a blowtorch and a Makita drill and magnets in his backpack, all commonly used in the commission of burglaries. Possession of Marijuana--Nov. 23, 7:22 a.m. on Paseo Cerro. The deputy stopped the suspect for a bicycle violation. A consensual search of the suspect's backpack revealed opium pipes. When the deputy searched the suspect, he found less than one ounce of marijuana. Petty Theft-- Nov. 22, 6:10 p.m., on Devon and McFarland Avenues. The victim had his cellular phone plugged in and charging in his unlocked truck while he visited a construction site. When he returned to his truck, the phone was gone. There are no suspects. Embezzlement--Nov. 20, 1:45 p.m., on Saratoga Glen Court. The victim reported that he turned over his stamp collection containing some 50,000 stamps, worth about $50,000, to the suspect to be auctioned. The victim was told the auction would be held by July. The auction was never held, and the suspect will not return the victim's phone calls.
