Outdoor orientation camping trip helps Saratogan acclimate
Ann S. Birenbaum, a first-year student at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, began college with a canoe/camping trip on the Kennebec River in Maine's north woods. She is the daughter of Lazar and Janelle Birenbaum and is one of 472 first-year students participating in the Colby Outdoor Orientation Trip.
Corrales completes ROTC training
Elizabeth A. Corrales has completed U. S. Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps field training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The four- to six-week summer curriculum consisted of orientation on jet aircraft, physical fitness and survival training.
The cadet is a student at UC-Berkeley. She is the daughter of Concepcion and Ignacio J. Corrales of Saratoga and a 1994 graduate of Presentation High School, San Jose.
Mary McMains plays volleyball at Brown
Mary Margaret McMains, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John McMains of Saratoga, was named to the women's varsity volleyball team at Brown University for a second season. She is a sophomore.
