Real estate firm collecting gifts for Toys for Tots

Through Dec. 19, the Northern California offices of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is joining forces with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for its Toys for Tots campaign.

The annual program provides holiday joy for underprivileged children through the collection and distribution of new, unwrapped toys to charitable organizations and social welfare agencies. The organizations then pass the gifts on to the children they serve. During the past 52 years, the Marine Reservists have provided more than 243 million toys to approximately 121 million children throughout the country.

The two closest Coldwell Banker locations that are accepting toys are at 12029 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road and 325 Los Gatos- Saratoga Road.

Rec Dept. offers variety of classes for kids, adults

The Saratoga Recreation Department's Winter/Spring 2000 Activities Guide is available. Classes begin around the third week of January.

New adult offerings include Phyllis Hunt's Stained Glass and Leading for Stained Glass; Leilani Lyon's Open Studio and Primitive Dollmaking; and Lomala's Fabric Painting and Crochet, and Knitting and Hand Embroidery. Many of the other classes highlight dance, fitness, art, cooking and computers.

New classes for children include Brunch with Ms. Manners at Bella Saratoga; Mother's Day Tea at Le Mouton Noir; Cottage Kitchen Crafts; Cat Fancy; and Springtime Clay Workshop. The Rec Dept. again offers its popular children's dance classes: ballet and tap sessions for children in three age groups: 3-4, 4-5 and 5-6 years old. A public dance recital wraps up every series of dance classes each June.

Many residents received their Winter/Spring 2000 Activities Guide in the mail. Those who did not may pick one up at the Rec. Dept. or have one sent to them.

For more information about class dates, times or fees, or to request a catalog, call the Rec. Dept. at 408.868.1248 or 408.868.1249.
