Shirley Helen Dalton

Former Saratogan Shirley Helen Dalton, 63, of Fairfield, Conn., died Dec. 7 at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, Conn.

She was married to the late James Joseph Dalton, and the couple settled in Saratoga in 1971. Upon the death of her husband in 1976, Mrs. Dalton resumed her career and held positions with Marriott Corp., Saga Foods and Silicon Graphics. After her four children finished college, she moved to the Seattle area in 1989, where she worked for Boeing, and more recently she moved to Fairfield.

She leaves her grown children, Michael Dalton, Mary Bloomer, Timothy Dalton and James Dalton, and grandchildren Bridget, Charlie, Jack, William and Caroline. A daughter, Ann Dalton, is deceased.

A memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Saratoga on Dec. 17 at 3 p.m.

James T. Gaspar

James T. Gaspar of Saratoga died at home Nov. 19 of natural causes.

He was born in San Francisco on June 15, 1942, and was employed as a manager for ILC Technologies in Sunnyvale.

Gaspar could be seen walking each day with his dogs: Sara, a golden retriever, and Samatha, a Labrador retriever.

Survivors are wife Maureen Gaspar and children David Gaspar, Brian Gaspar and Michelle Gaspar.

A funeral service was held Nov. 22 at Saratoga Federated Church, and the interment was at Madronia Cemetery.
