Men's 35-plus Basketball

Registration begins Jan. 6 for a men's 35-and-over basketball league in Saratoga. The league, sponsored by the City of Saratoga, will feature a 10-game season with games played Saturdays (8:30-11:30 a.m.) at West Valley College. League play runs Jan. 25-April 12.

The registration fee is $495 per team (plus $7 for each non-resident on the roster), and registration begins Jan. 6 for returning resident teams, Jan. 7 for new resident teams, Jan. 8 for returning non-resident teams and Jan. 9 for new non-resident teams. Residents are those who live or work in Saratoga.

Registration is accepted at the Saratoga Community Center, 19655 Allendale Ave., from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. For manager packets or more information, call 868-1234.

Baseball Camps

B & B Baseball Camps will present a camp for youngsters ages 8-12, sponsored by the Los Gatos Little League, at the Little League field on Blossom Hill Road. Camp hours are 8:30 a.m.-noon each day.

B & B also will host the first annual Los Gatos Professional Baseball Camp Jan. 11-12 at the Los Gatos High School baseball field for players ages 13-18. Camp hours are 1-4:30 p.m. that Saturday and Sunday.

Each camp will stress the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, base running, pitching and catching.

The registration fee is $60 for each camp and the registration deadline is Jan. 2. For more information, call B & B Camps at 395-4320.

Quito Sign-ups

The Quito Little League will hold signups for the 1997 season on Jan. 13, 15 and 22, 6-9 p.m. each night, in the cafeteria at Rolling Hills Middle School, Pollard Road at More Avenue in Los Gatos.

Players ages 5-12 (as of July 31, 1997) are eligible for the league and must provide a birth certificate for proof of age and a PG&E bill for proof of residency at the registration. An $80 donation is requested.

The league also is looking for umpires for the coming season. The league needs adult volunteers and also is looking for high school and college students who will be paid by the game. Full training will be provided.

Games begin in March and continue through June.
