    Winter Wonderland

    Saratoga Youth Commission's winter semi-formal dance was a glittering success


    At first, even the sounds of Britney and the Back Street Boys, pulsating from the DJ's speakers, was not enough to get the middle school boys dancing with the middle school girls at the Saratoga Youth Commission's winter semi-formal dance Dec. 15. While groups of girls danced near the DJ's stage, many boys clustered in the back, or even in the community center's lounge outside the makeshift dance hall. But by 9 p.m., one hour before the dance ended, almost all the teens and pre-teens, some 350 total, were at least on the dance floor, although some were standing stock-still.   More
