    Holiday camps set for young athletes

    The annual Stanford Holiday Baseball Clinic returns to The Farm this year with a final session scheduled during Christmas vacation.

    A pitching clinic and baseball instruction for players 12-18 will be conducted Dec. 27-29 at Stanford. The cost is $115 per session.

    Basketball Camp

    The Steve Barnes Winter Basketball Camp will be held Dec. 27-29, 8 a.m.-noon each day, at San Jose State University. The camp is open to boys ages 7-13 and the registration fee is $75. For more information, call 408.924.1245.

    Winter Camps

    The Central YMCA will host weekly and daily winter holiday camps for youngsters ages 6-12 during school's winter break.

    Camp activities include: sports, crafts, basketball, cheerleading, soccer, magic and more. Each camp will also include traditional camp activities like swimming, arts and crafts and field trips. For more information, call 408.298.1717, ext. 60.

    Pitching Clinics

    Pre-season pitching and arm conditioning clinics will be held Wednesdays Jan. 31 through March 14 in the gym at West Valley Community College in Saratoga. Clinics will be held for players ages 9-10 at 6:30 p.m. and for players ages 11-12 at 7:30 p.m.

    Baseball Camps

    Holiday baseball and softball camps for Little League through high school age players are currently being offered by Hardkte World of Baseball. The indoor clinics feature instruction for two days, two hours a day, and the cost is $90 per camp. For more information, call 408.866.8050 or check the website at www.hwob.com.
