BUSINESS BRIEF

Cornish & Carey collecting coats

Cornish & Carey real estate brokers are trying to collect enough coats and blankets to supply a Bay Area charity until next Christmas.

The Ecumenical Hunger Program, recipient of the goods, is a nonprofit organization based in East Palo Alto. It provides emergency food boxes, clothing, furniture and appliances to low-income families on the Peninsula.

Program organizer Darlene DeBartolo-King said Cornish & Carey will take coats and blankets in any condition. "If it needs repair," she said, "I'll sew it myself."

Those who wish to make donations should take them to one of Cornish & Carey's Saratoga offices, located at 14506 Big Basin Way or 12175 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road.
