Fitch is survived by his parents, Robert Fitch Sr. and Shannon Fitch of Saratoga; his brother, Craig Fitch of Campbell; his sister, Melissa Fitch of Atascadero; his estranged wife, Deborah Jo Fitch, and their children, Michelle Fitch-Zambory, Lindsay Jo Fitch and Brent Robert Fitch; and his nephew, Robert Iwaskresich.

A funeral service was held Dec. 16 at the Alameda Family's Saratoga-Cupertino Funeral Home. A second service and interment were scheduled to take place in Iowa.
