The Parker family of 14136 Okanogan Drive captured residential first place in the Decorate Saratoga contest with their colorful outdoor holiday decorations.
The Addison family at 18960 Greenbrook Ct. placed second, and R. L. Allario, 14169 Okanogan Drive, placed third. Honorable mentions went to the Coburn family, 202 Kilbride Dr.; Scott and Carol Hutchins, 19121 Harleigh Dr.; and Byron and Mary Harkey, 18743 Cabernet Drive.
First place for businesses was won by Our Lady of Fatima retirement home at 20400 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. Bit-O'-Country, 14527 Big Basin Way, took second place for businesses, and Exclusively Yours, 14500 Big Basin Way, took third.
The contest was sponsored by the Saratoga News and the Saratoga Retirement Community (formerly the Oddfellows Home).
The winners were decided by residents of the retirement community, who were bused through Saratoga neighborhoods. At some homes, they were met by caroling children and candy cane-carrying homeowners dressed as Santa, said a spokesperson.
