First Public Artwork?

Artist Inez Lui, 26, poses with her red cedar sculpture on view in the courtyard of Saratoga City Hall. The piece is called "Koi Komb" because it resembles a comb and it is decorated with carved koi. Lui, an art student at De Anza College, is hoping a donor will come forward to help the city purchase the sculpture, appraised at $8,500. The city would like to acquire the sculpture as its first piece of public artwork, but has no funds available, said Jennifer Britton, assistant to the city manager.
