Girl Scouts prepare for 85th anniversary
Girl Scouts are launching a search to contact some 50 million Girl Scout alumni and invite them to a grand 85th anniversary celebration in 1997.
The reunion will be held in downtown Oakland on March 12, 1997.
Bay Area Girl Scout chapters are helping in the search by distributing alumnae search cards in tandem with their Fall Nut and Calendar Sale, which began Nov. 15. The cards, asking women to share stories of their Girl Scout experiences, include a box to check in order to request invitations to the celebration.
The celebration will provide opportunities for former Girl Scouts to get reinvolved with the organization.
Interested individuals can obtain an alumnae search card and more information about the Girl Scout reunion by calling (800)447-4475.
Information on the celebration can also be obtained at the Council's Web site: http://www.sfbgirlscouts.org.
