Sheriff's Report

Residential Burglary--Dec. 19, 11 a.m., on Viewoak Drive. An unknown suspect entered a resident's open garage and took her purse from the top of the washing machine. The purse was later found by a neighbor, but with $200 cash, keys and an address book missing. The victim requests more frequent patrol checks in her neighborhood.

Grand Theft--Dec. 19, 7:45 a.m., on Audrey Smith Lane. A resident parked his unlocked truck in his driveway. The following day, he noticed a $450 cellular phone and 10 cassette tapes missing. The truck was dusted for fingerprints, but none were found.

Petty Theft--Dec. 18, 10 p.m., on Big Basin Way. A woman noticed her purse was missing when she returned home from a restaurant on Big Basin Way. She remembered having her purse hanging from the back of her chair at the restaurant. She told deputies she remembered a male customer watching her. Inside the purse was $120 in cash and five credit cards, whose theft she called the companies to report.

Auto Burglary--Dec. 18, 4 p.m., on Stoneridge Drive. An unknown suspect broke the left-rear wing window on the resident's car. The suspect took several items, including a $3,000 set of golf clubs and a compact-disc changer valued at $500.

Grand Theft--Dec. 18, 10:10 a.m., on Regan Lane. A resident reported to deputies that while her home was being fumigated, someone took a small jewelry bag from a dresser drawer in her master bedroom containing several thousand dollars in jewelry.

Vandalism--Dec. 17, 11:45 p.m., on Emanuel Court. A suspect knocked on a resident's door and requested that the victim call the police. After the resident allowed the suspect into his home, the suspect panicked, broke a window and fled through it. The suspect was later located by a neighbor and restrained in the street. Deputies reported that the suspect smelled of alcohol, slurred his speech, could not stand up and was disoriented. Deputies arrested the suspect.

Grand Theft--Dec. 17, 5:45 p.m., on Los Gatos--Saratoga Road. The victim went to his company party in Saratoga, and while there, a co-worker bumped into him. Later, the victim noticed the cellular phone that had been in his pants pocket was missing. A witness placed a call to the cellular phone and made contact with a suspect. Another call was later placed to the cellular phone in which the witness asked for the suspect by name. The suspect talked to the witness.
