|
Vasquez first
Gabrielle Vasquez of Saratoga Woods won the
high point trophy in the girls 7-8 age
division at the recent league swim
championship meet for Saratoga club teams.
Haley Oosterhause of the Brookside Waves of
second.
Lambles invited
Kelly and John Lamble of Saratoga were
invited to participate in the USTA Pacific
Zonal Tennis Championships held July
21-27 in Tucson, Ariz. Only 16 boys and
16 girls were selected to play for the
Pacific team in the event.
The four zones competing in the tournament
were Pacific, Northeast, Southeast and
Central.
Kelly Lamble, 11, is a student at Redwood
Middle School, and John Lamble, 10, attends
Foothill School.
Masters swimming
A masters swimming program for those age 19
and older is offered Monday through Thursday,
7-8 p.m., at the Los Gatos High School
pool. The program features regular,
structured workouts for swimmers of all
ability levels. The cost is $40 per month.

Special Olympics
The fall Special Olympics season is just
around the corner, and coaches are needed to
prepare athletes for their events. A
volunteer orientation will be held Aug. 13, 7
p.m., at 43 E. Gish Road, just off N. First
Street in San Jose. For more information,

All-star game
The Independent Senior Semi Pro Baseball
all-star game will be played Aug. 13, 7 p.m.,
at San Jose Municipal Stadium.
