| Ballet San Jose to perform 'The Tempest' |
 |
Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley has filled in
the mysterious blank on its 2002-03
season lineup - and filled it in a most
spectacular way - with Michael Smuin's The
Tempest.
The production, a full-length story ballet
based on Shakespeare's play and featuring
music by Paul Chihara after Henry Purcell,
takes place April 3-6. The
Tempest requires more than 80 costumes
reflective of the magic, monsters and myth of
the original play.
The ballet company opens its season Oct.
17-20 with The Choreography of Dennis
Nahat in three pieces of choreography
that include the premiere of Prince
Igor.
