| Ballet signs Lainie Kazan for opener |
|
Lainie Kazan, the award-winning singer and
actress currently starring in the film My
Big Fat Greek Wedding, will lend her
voice to "In Studio D," one of three
original dances in The Choreography of
Dennis Nahat for Ballet San Jose Silicon
Valley's season opener Oct. 17-20 at the
San Jose Center for the Performing Arts.
Nahat based the story on his own experience
as a young dancer in a New York City
rehearsal hall, chronicling the long, intense
hours that dancers and choreographers spend
training. Kazan will sing eight songs by
Peter Wright.
