Assault/Battery—Aug. 18, 7:45 p.m. on Charters Avenue at 10 Oak Way. The victim was walking with his family when he was struck in the lower back with a small water balloon that was thrown from a passing car. The balloon did not break upon impact and fell to the ground. The victim could not identify the license plate or the driver. No witnesses were located. The victim had a minor pain complaint but declined treatment.
Vandalism—Aug. 18, 6 a.m. at Audrey Smith Court. An unknown suspect spray painted a car and the driveway of a residence with anti-gay slogans. The tires of the car were spray painted pink, as well as the driveway, lawn and retaining wall. Firecrackers caused minor damage to the mailbox. It is unknown whether any of the teenage or adult children of the home are the victims of the attack.
Vandalism—Aug. 17, 8:30 p.m. on Bonnie Ridge Way. A water balloon was thrown at the front doorway of a resident, breaking the side glass panel. No suspects have been identified or located at this time.
Speed Contest—Aug. 16, 11:30 p.m. on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road and Verde Vista. An officer was monitoring traffic when he noticed two cars—one red car, the other black—traveling southbound on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road at high speed. The officer paced the cars for a quarter of a mile. The cars were clocked at 100 mph in a 45-mph zone. The drivers stated they were racing against each other. The officer booked both drivers in the main jail.
Grand Theft—Aug. 15, 5 p.m. at Hayfield Court. Unknown suspects removed a lock from a secured gate at a construction site. The suspects took three spools of copper wire worth $2,854.56. Two sets of footprints were located. A set of tire tracks was also found.
Forgery—Aug. 12, noon on Via Alto Court at Allendale Avenue. The victim sold his Mercedes to the two suspects, who paid with a counterfeit check for $38,000. The suspects and vehicle are currently outstanding.
