Sheriff's Report
Vandalism—Aug. 25 at 8 a.m. on Big Basin Way. An officer was dispatched to the location for a 911 hang up call. The person who had attempted the call wanted to report vandalism they had noticed. An unknown suspect had spray painted anti-Semitic graffiti on nearby tennis courts and a wood shed. An unknown person then painted over the graffiti. The suspect is still at large.

Identity Theft—Aug. 30 at 12:45 p.m. on Lexington Court. The victim's Social Security number and birth date had been used nearly a year ago to open bank accounts. The suspect used the information to open over 10 bank accounts in Chicago, Ill., as well as to attempt to open credit card accounts. The victim was notified only recently when bank security in Chicago looked into the accounts.

Vandalism#8212;Aug. 29 at 11:50 p.m. on Saratoga Creek Drive. The victim had parked a car in front of a residence, and while visiting inside heard a noise coming from outside. When the victim inspected the vehicle, the front left tire was flat. There was a small puncture found at the top of the tire. The victim had his tires slashed the week previously. No further information concerning possible suspects has been obtained from the victim.

Vandalism—Aug. 30 at 9 p.m. on Dagmar Drive. The victim had parked a car for the night across the street from a residence. While inside, unknown suspects threw several eggs at the vehicle and then fled the scene. The following day the victim discovered the damage, which included paint damage to the hood and driver side door. The estimated cost to repair the vehicle is over $6,000. There were no witnesses.

Evading Peace Officer—Aug. 31 at 9:55 a.m. on Cox Avenue. An officer attempted to perform a vehicle enforcement stop for a seatbelt violation. The officer activated his emergency lights, however the suspect continued southbound at 35 mph. The suspect then turned onto an adjoining street and accelerated to 50 mph. A pursuit ensued and concluded with the suspect running from the vehicle on foot through several rear yards of nearby houses. The suspect was not caught and is still at large.

Petty Theft—Aug. 30 at 10:45 p.m. on Saratoga-Sunnyvale road. The victim was attending a back to school dance. The victim left her shoulder bag on a table with several other backpacks while participating in the event. The victim returned 10 minutes later to find the bag missing, which included a cell phone, her wallet, $35 in cash and a friend's wallet.
