Former Saratoga residents John and Joyce Carolan, now of Windsor, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelly Kathleen Carolan, to Evan Patrick Hall, son of David Hall of Morro Bay and Patricia Hall of Sunnyvale.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Saratoga High School and San Francisco State University. She is a senior research project assistant at Roche Bioscience in Palo Alto.
Her fiancé is a graduate of Homestead High School and San Francisco State University. He is a senior systems engineer with Netmagic Inc. in Campbell.
They plan an October wedding.

Kirsten Kimberly Mattern and Michael Tomas Esquivel were married Aug. 3 at Stanford University Memorial Chapel.
The bride is the daughter of Richard H. and Ruth Mattern of Saratoga. A graduate of Los Gatos High School, Stanford University and the UC-Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, she is a veterinarian in Orange County.
The groom is the son of Michael A. Esquivel of La Verne and Ann R. Esquivel of Ontario. A graduate of Damien High School, Stanford University and Columbia University School of Law, he is an attorney with the law firm of O'Melveny and Myers LLP in Newport Beach.

Marie Julian and James Gannoe were married April 20 at the Highlands Inn in Carmel.
The bride is the daughter of former Saratogans Jim Julian of Dyer, Ark., and Patricia Slavin of Carmel. A graduate of Saratoga High School and the University of Phoenix, she is a buyer/planner with Epicor Medical in Sunnyvale.
The groom is the son of Thomas and Susan Gannoe of East Lyme, Conn. A graduate of East Lyme High School and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, he is the vice president of research and development with Satiety Inc. in Redwood City.
The couple resides in Palo Alto.
