Felony Vandalism—Oct. 6 at 10:50 a.m. on Via De Marcos. During the night a residence was toiled-papered and a car damaged. There was an attempt to lift the front of the car's hood, which caused it to bend upward. The estimated cost of damage is more than $1,000.
Possession Of Weapon—Oct. 3 at 2:30 a.m. on Vista Arroyo. While on patrol, an officer spotted a young male sitting on a fence and eating. The suspect had what looked to be a stick next to him. When the officer approached, the stick was discovered to be a concealed sword. The boy said the sword was for protection. The officer contacted the youth's parents and then released him with a citation.
Possession—Sept. 29 at 10:55 p.m. on Quito Road. While on patrol, an officer stopped a man for not having a bike light while riding at night. The officer noticed signs of methamphetamine use. He then searched the man and found two small baggies of marijuana in his lower front pocket. The man's blood was sent in for sampling, the marijuana was booked at the West Valley Substation and the man was booked into the main jail.
Residential Burglary—Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m. on Woodbank Way. Between Sept. 27 and Sept. 29 an unknown person unlawfully entered a residence through an open window, taking cash and credit cards. The perpetrator is still at large.
Assault With A Deadly Weapon—Sept. 28 at 11:57 p.m. on Scotland Drive. An unknown assailant hit a man in the face with a beer bottle. The victim suffered severe lacerations on his face, which required extensive suturing. The assailant is currently at large.
Grand Theft—Sept. 27 at 4 p.m. on Paseo Cerro. A man working as a self-employed contractor was remodeling a home in Saratoga. He left an unsecured gasoline Honda generator in the backyard. When he returned, he found the generator missing. The estimated cost of the item is $2,100. No suspect information could be obtained.
Criminal Threats—Sept. 27 at 12:50 p.m. on Prospect Road. A security officer at a local high school asked two men to leave the school campus at 12:20 p.m. The officer then saw the two men being escorted off the campus by a teacher at 12:40 p.m. The officer then approached the two men, who verbally confronted the officer. While driving away in their car, one of the suspects leaned out of the window and told the officer he was going to get a gun and come back to the school and shoot him and teachers. The man was later apprehended by San Jose police and booked into the main jail.
Petty Theft—Sept. 26 at 6:55 p.m. on Big Basin Way. A resident campaigning for Saratoga City Council has been making homemade signs for his campaign. He has put them at a local gas station with the permission of the station. An unknown person has removed the signs from the gas station twice. There are no known witnesses or suspects.
Assault And Battery—Sept. 25 at 6:47 p.m. An officer was dispatched to Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road. A person had been shot by a paint ball gun by an unknown passenger of a tan car driving southbound. The victim was hit twice in the stomach, and although there were no sustained injuries, the victim complained of pain. The perpetrators are still at large.
Petty Theft—Sept. 25 at 10:50 a.m. on Wood Dell Court. A female pedestrian was walking and found mail discarded in some bushes on Quito Road in San Jose. With information from the mail, the woman called the victim, who then made a report. The victim believes the mail was likely stolen from the unlocked mailbox located at the curb of her residence. There is no suspect information.
Petty Theft—Sept. 24 at 7:05 p.m. on Big Basin Way. During the day, an unknown person climbed onto a resident's roof and cut the antenna cable. A DirecTV satellite dish and stand were also stolen. The resident who owned the satellite can no longer receive a signal and estimates the value of the equipment at $225.
Petty Theft—Sept. 24 at 6:50 p.m. on Fruitvale Ave. An unknown person unlawfully entered a home through an open window and stole between 30 and 35 red fired bricks that had been stacked on a wooden pallet. There are no witnesses. The estimated cost of the stolen bricks is $50.
Petty Theft—Sept. 24 at 10:15 a.m. on Big Basin Way. During the night one of four dwarf juniper trees was stolen from a planter in front of a downtown salon. The estimated cost of the tree is $100. There is no suspect information.
