Eshoo to host reception
U.S. Rep. Anna Eshoo is hosting a reception for the community Oct. 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Hakone Gardens.

SVACA to offer licenses, shots
The Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority is having a pet licensing and rabies vaccination clinic Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for all residents of its member cities, including Saratoga.
Licenses must be purchased at the time of vaccination, and proof of alteration (spay or neuter) must be brought. Dogs must be brought to the clinic on leashes and cats brought in carriers. To save time, print the animal license application off the website at www.svaca.com, and bring it completed to the clinic.
License fees for altered dogs are between $11 and $26, and $50 for unaltered dogs. Fees for altered cats are between $6 and $16, and $12 to $32 for unaltered cats. The clinic is located at 1405 Civic Center Drive in Santa Clara. For more information, call 408.261.5401.
PG&E, Longs give rebates on items
Saratoga's Longs Drugs and PG&E are offering discounts on energy-efficient Energy Star products as part of the state's "Flex Your Power" campaign.
The discounts will last until the $5 million is used up.
