Obituary
Walter Otto
Former Los Gatan Dr. Walter Hamilton Otto died Sept. 19 in Grass Valley, where he had been residing. He was 81.

Born Aug. 28, 1921 in San Francisco, Otto served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. A graduate of San José State University and Johns Hopkins Medical School, he worked as a doctor in Saratoga from 1952 to 1995. He belonged to the Santa Clara County Medical Society and the Saratoga Federated Church. He enjoyed photography and playing with his "little fat black dog," Mollie.

Survivors include wife of 55 years Carol M. Otto of Grass Valley; daughters and sons-in-law Penelope and Donald Hansen of Grass Valley and Wendy and Jim San Filippo of Penn Valley; son and daughter-in-law Walter and Cindi Otto of Minden, Nev.; grandsons Joshua and Lucas Hansen, Nick San Filippo and Joshua Otto; granddaughters Micaela San Filippo and Tyra Porras; and great-grandchildren Hailee and Mack Porras.

Memorial services have been held. Donations can be made to Hospice of the Foothills.
