Say it three times quickly and that's what comes out. But while Red Ribbon Week may be a tongue-twister, it was a big event in Saratoga recently. Campbell Orgelia of Foothill School celebrated the event by getting all decked out in full red regalia to show her support. Events were held throughout Saratoga from Oct. 14 to Oct. 25. Foothill's celebration was highlighted by Spirit Day, which included class spirit competitions, raffle giveaways, red balloons and temporary tattoos. Red Ribbon Week began in 1985, when parents wore red ribbons to protest illegal drugs. Enrique Camarena, a federal drug enforcement agent, had been killed while investigating a drug cartel that same year.
