Sarah Nakaji proved to be more than Los Altos could handle when the Saratoga water polo standout led the Falcons against the Eagles last week.
Nakaji poured in four goals to spark the Falcons to a 6-0 win over the Eagles in the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza Division game.
Nakaji provided all the offense Saratoga needed in the game, and the defense did its job by blanking Los Altos.
The Falcons led 1-0 after a period and 3-0 at the half. Saratoga scored two more unanswered goals in the third quarter, then added an insurance goal in the fourth.
Saratoga came back last weekend to win the championship in the Valley Christian Fall Classic. The Falcons beat the host Warriors 6-3 in the championship game.
Saratoga will be back in action on Oct. 30, when the Falcons host Los Gatos in a 3 p.m. game.
The Saratoga boys water polo team, meanwhile, held off a late surge by Mountain View last week to pull out a 10-9 win. The Falcons led 10-5 after three periods, but the Spartans came back with four unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to make it close.
Saratoga pushed its record to 5-0 in the El Camino Division and to 12-8 for the year with the win.
Bryte Nielson hammered down 30 kills in two matches to lead the Falcons to the win over Lynbrook and Fremont in El Camino Division girls volleyball play.
Nielson drilled 13 kills to lead the Falcons past the Vikings 15-3, 10-15, 15-4, 15-0. She came back with 17 kills in a 15-3, 15-7, 15-12 win over Fremont two days later.
Saratoga improved to 7-2 in division play and to 19-4 for the year with the two wins.
Serena Lin cruised to back-to-back wins at No. 1 singles to lead the Saratoga girls tennis team to two De Anza Division victories last week.
Lin won 6-4, 6-2 in a 4-3 win over Palo Alto, and she also won 6-1, 6-1 in a 7-0 win over Wilcox.
The Falcons are now 6-5 in league play.
The Saratoga field hockey team, meanwhile, slipped to 3-3-3 in division play after losing 1-0 to Leigh and fighting Willow Glen to a 1-1 tie.
